French. Early 20C. Gratte-Ecorce or Moss Scraper. Triangular steel scraper on tanged steel rod. Ash handle with initials carved ‘A.M’. These Emoussoirs or gratte-ecorce (bark scraper) were used for removing moss and lichen from trees.Notably fruit trees.
